How to resize photos for your listing
- Add your photos by dragging them in or choosing them from your device. You can process up to 50 at a time.
- Pick a preset for Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or your own website, or enter a custom size.
- Choose fit inside to keep the whole photo, or crop to ratio to get a clean, consistent shape.
- Press Resize photos, then download single files or everything as one ZIP.
Each result shows the before and after size, so you can see exactly how much space you saved.
Why size and compression matter
Phone and camera photos are often 5 to 15 MB each. Most platforms only show them at a fraction of that resolution, so the extra weight just slows things down. Some channel managers refuse files above a few megabytes, and a few platforms reject photos that are too small. On your own website, heavy images are one of the biggest reasons pages load slowly, which hurts both guests and search rankings.
A sensible target is a long edge of 1600 to 2400 pixels at around 85% quality. That keeps photos sharp on large screens while staying small enough to load quickly on mobile data.
Photo tips for better listings
- Shoot in landscape. Most platforms show a wide 3:2 or 16:9 frame first.
- Use natural daylight, switch lights on, and tidy before you shoot.
- Lead with your best photo: usually the living area or the view.
- Keep rooms level and keep the camera at chest height to avoid distorted walls.
- Do not enlarge small photos. It cannot add detail, only blur. This tool never upscales.
Platform requirements change, so treat the presets as a starting point and check the platform's current photo guidelines. The tool shows how reliable each preset is and links to its source where one exists.
Your photos stay private
Everything runs in your browser. Your photos are not uploaded, stored or shared. Re-saving an image also strips hidden metadata such as GPS coordinates, camera details and timestamps, which is a good habit when you publish photos of a property.
If you manage a rental, Bookinghook helps you take direct bookings and keep your channels in sync, so your best photos work harder everywhere.
