How to get your Google review link
- Find your Place ID. Open Google's Place ID Finder, search for your business or rental, and copy the code that starts with
ChIJ. - Paste it into the generator above. If your Business Profile already gave you a short
g.page/r/.../reviewlink, you can paste that instead. - Copy the link, download the QR code, or print the review card.
- Open the link on your phone once to check it lands on the review form for the right listing.
Where to use your review link
- Post-stay message. Use one of the templates above in an email, WhatsApp or SMS the day after checkout.
- Email signature. A short "Stayed with us? Tell us how it was" line with the link.
- Welcome card or guidebook. Print the QR code so guests can review straight from their phone.
- Checkout reminder. A small card by the door works well for guests who prefer not to use their phone indoors.
Review policy: dos and don'ts
Google's policies exist to keep reviews trustworthy, and breaking them can get reviews removed.
- Do ask every guest the same way, whatever their experience was.
- Do make it easy and say you value honest feedback, good or bad.
- Don't filter ("only click here if you were happy"). This is called review gating.
- Don't offer discounts, gifts or free nights in exchange for a review.
- Don't write reviews for your own business or ask guests what to write.
Timing the ask
Send the request within 24 hours of checkout, while the stay is fresh. A second, gentle reminder after three or four days is plenty, and then leave it. Keep the message short, address the guest by name, and thank them whatever they decide.
If you manage many stays, Bookinghook can send your post-stay message automatically after every checkout, so every guest is asked and nobody is missed.
