How to get a Google Calendar iCal link
Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and most channel managers can import availability from an iCal (.ics) URL. Google Calendar offers two kinds, and the converter above builds the correct format from whatever you have at hand: an email address, a calendar ID, an embed code or a share link.
Option 1: the public address
- Open Google Calendar on a computer and go to Settings and sharing for the calendar (three dots next to its name).
- Under Access permissions, tick Make available to public.
- Copy the Calendar ID under Integrate calendar and paste it into the tool.
Anyone who knows the ID can then read the calendar, so check which event details are visible. Pick "See only free/busy" to hide titles and descriptions.
Option 2: the secret address
Under Integrate calendar, copy the Secret address in iCal format. The calendar stays non-public, but the link contains a random token. Anyone holding it can read your calendar, so paste it only where needed. If it leaks, use Reset next to the address in the same settings section to generate a new one (the old link stops working).
Add it to a booking platform
- Airbnb: Calendar, Availability settings, Connect calendars, Import calendar. Paste the URL and name it.
- Booking.com: Extranet, Rates and availability, Sync calendars. Add the iCal link.
- Vrbo: Calendar, Import/Export, Import a calendar. Paste the URL.
Menu names change from time to time, so look for "import calendar" or "sync calendars" if the labels differ.
Troubleshooting
- 404 or "calendar not found": the calendar is not public. Make it public or use the secret address.
- Empty calendar: the free/busy setting may hide events, or the wrong calendar ID was used. Secondary calendars end in
@group.calendar.google.com. - Link works in the browser but the platform rejects it: some platforms want
https://, others acceptwebcal://. Try the other variant.
About sync delays
An iCal link is a one-way, scheduled read. Platforms typically refresh every few hours, sometimes only once a day, and Google caches its own feeds as well. A booking can therefore sit unnoticed for hours and cause a double booking. For busy listings, a channel manager with real two-way sync, like Bookinghook, closes that gap far faster.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser. The tool only reformats text you paste and never contacts Google.
